I counted at least six different companies at Gen Con that are making custom gaming tables, each with their own distinct selling points, but the Rathskellers gaming tables were my favorite thanks to their unique combination of high-quality wood craftsmanship and cool integrated tech features.

The coolest part is the LED light strip that wraps around the entire edge of the recessed playing area. It works with a custom app that allows you to fully customize the lighting, including coloring different sections of the table with different colors to correspond with the game token color of the player seated in a given location. You can just come to them with a very general idea of your ideal table, and they will make it happen, everything! They are super quick to respond and we could make very informed decisions because we had all the support we needed. I even asked them what they thought would look good regarding the rest of my furniture, and they are always willing to help and give their opinion. I also found them super honest and straightforward, everything was crystal clear from beginning to end: we knew exactly how much everything cost, whenever they had a cheaper or more expensive (and better quality) they were prompt to suggest and ask us. They even made the research regarding shipping and customs.

I could go on and on about their professionalism, we’re really super pleased with their service – until the very end, by the way. It wasn’t like they shipped the table and then it wasn’t on their hands anymore, they kept contacting us and keeping us updated until the table had reached us, and were very thoughtful of our opinion regarding the shipping service. Regarding the table itself, the pictures speak for themselves. It is GORGEOUS. The wood is very well stained, every detail makes the table super special. It was actually quite easy to assemble, even though we are two and our table is huge (188 x 125), we actually managed to do it ourselves. I love the fact I can use just half of it and keep my computer or whatever on the other half (as seen in the pictures), the felt is definitely top (as we were informed) and I love the gray and black together. The USB port works perfectly and the trays we got run very smoothly. The table is also very heavy and sturdy, it will surely last for a long, long time. I really love it.

This table gives every game that little extra enjoyment! The quality of the table is amazing.

I’m a boardgamer with a fondness for thematic games, such as Eldritch Horror, Shadows Of Brimstone and many more. These games have in common that they take a while to set up and also the game plays for several hours. With limited playtime a day, these games span several days and I found myself most of the time putting them back in the box before I even finished them as the table was needed for other activities. With a gaming table, that frustration would be solved. The game can remain in the cellar while the table can be still be used.

Out of several manufacturers, I made a well thought-out decision for a Rathskellers table.

And now that I have the table, i am sure that i made the right decision. From the start, the people of Rathskellers were nice to talk too, providing excellent feedback on the many questions I had and, important to me, not pushing for a sale. Also, after I bought the table, they continued to help me through the ordering process.

They kept me up to date throughout the manufacturing process which was nice. Delivery went smooth. The Table came in a sturdy box and unpacking and installing the table was a breeze. The quality of the table is amazing. Everyone in my gaming group is equally impressed. This table gives every game that little extra enjoyment.

We first saw Rathskellers’ tables during the Cannes Gaming Festival. We were quite impressed by the Councilor table which looked very cool and of good quality. Unfortunately, the price (which can be scary) made us think a lot about it. Finally, we decided to buy one, because we were sure we would use it a lot.

We were greatly surprised by the reactivity of the team and the quality of the guidance given. These made us make new choices about the colors and some of the accessories wanted initially.

After receiving the table, we were happily surprised with the quality of the manufacturing of all the components. The table is extremely solid, classy and makes gaming much more enjoyable and comfortable.

About the accessories we have chosen , 2 double cup holders (unfortunately 2 are not not enough when playing with a lot of people), the felt cap, which is really useful. The LED system, which is pretty funny in fact adds a |wow” factor during the gaming sessions (we still have to test it with war-games or minis)

To conclude, I recommend Rathskellers’s tables because, the quality is there!

The Councilor is one massive beast.

My wife and I had been eyeing the Rathkellers’ tables at the booths at the games fair in Essen for years. Last year – after a larger tax return – we decided to go for it. While we had thought about our wishes and options in advance it was great of the team to really take their time to go over everything and make sure we were ordering what we wanted.

Shortly before the table went into production we were contacted by the company to finalize everything. The team was very fast in responding and after a few e-mails back and forth we had everything set up. Then began the waiting… that was kind of hard but as they say good things take their time. So we just fast-forward to the end of June when we got the call that the table and the chairs were ready to be shipped. Now waiting was even harder as we had grown more and more excited.

The arrival didn’t disappoint. Even though I knew the dimensions of the table by heart I still was surprised to see this massive box come out of the delivery van. After opening the box (don’t ask about how many screws I had to remove before that happened) I knew two things: a) this was extremely well packaged and b) I would need help with getting the table into our living room. The Councilor is one massive beast – even without legs, the leaves and the floor inserts. Luckily a good friend volunteered and after a few moments of deliberation, swearing and heavy lifting we had the table inside.

The assembly was pretty smooth but we were taking our time not to make a mistake shortly before the finish. We could see and feel the excellent craftsmanship and the quality of the wood that went into making the table. And when we got the table to its designated place we were really happy.

We have been using the Councilor as a dinner table practically every day now as well as for gaming and puzzling (as you can see in the pictures). To this day we haven’t regretted our decision to buy the table. Sure, it cost a lot of money but we feel it was very well spent.

This table has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. Period.

I viewed the main page several times and turned out multiple quotes using the cost estimating tool. The options were plenty, and worth every thought because all of them actually brought value to the product. They were also worth every penny as the table was not inexpensive. As I mulled over placing a down payment for the Hive gaming table, Rathskellers addressed every single one of my questions without fail and like clockwork. I had never been so sure about receiving a timely and meaningful response with any other organization or company. We discussed costs, materials, and even the complex measurements of a hexagonal table.

After about a month, I placed a down payment for the Hive Gaming table. That was the continuation of a great beginning. Most other companies would have been silent after the deposit. Responses would have been slow, or until the product was ready to be shipped. Rathskellers continued to answer my questions, make adjustments to my order, send photos, and even reach out to me to ensure they were building the best table for me. I made a couple erroneous measurements. They could have built the table anyway and shipped it off, but they paused to discuss the numbers with me. Yes, the table was truly hand-crafted. It did not come off of an assembly line, which if not for the photos during construction (and the communication), would have fooled me.

The table is gorgeous. It’s smooth. It shines. It’s grand. It feels good to just sit there. I was always concerned about whether the table would be large enough. Rathskellers assured me that it would work given my requirements and they were not wrong.

Absolutely Awesome !

I ordered my table in August 2016 and around four months later it arrived at my home. And what I got is just absolutely mind-blowing. It’s obvious that the team of Rathskellers is definitely built up of real gamers. This is really an extreme high quality and very beautiful table. It appears to be very robust and high functional. The jumbo cup holders are just perfect for placing drinks, which cannot run out over the table. The cards-and-counter-holders are useful to place game tableaus or just some junk food. With the built-in LED you do not necessarily need an additional lighting which is perfect for atmospheric gamed as “Mansions Of Madness” or similar games. You can even load your cell phone or tablet at this table!

But above all I want to set apart the team of Rathskellers, particularly the service. My mails were always answered extremely fast. I often had an answer just a few minutes later and they answered even on Sundays and even very late at night. (At this point a big THANK YOU to Thanos, Mara and Efi!)

It’s hard to imagine how could that table be even better.

These guys just have the best balanced, all-around table, without sacrificing quality.

I ordered a The Councilor back in April’17, without drawers, but pretty much all the other accessories. I heard about Rathskellers from YouTube reviewers, and decided to treat myself to a great table, since I love to play board games so much with my wife, and friends.

I couldn’t have made a better decision. The manufacturing process was long, yes – I just got my table at the beginning of January’18. But it was well worth the wait. The stable is incredibly sturdy, and you can see the craftsmanship that goes into every ridge and corner of the table. The wood is of incredible quality, the stain looks great, and the felt cover is just amazing. It will last my lifetime for sure, and it really raised the look and coziness of my living room.

I would also to point out that the folks at Rathskellers were communicative all the way from the time I first contacted them to the delivery, even during busier times like Essen, and summer vacations. I know it’s a big ask for some people to put so much money upfront – I was certainly a bit worried, but after reading testimonials, and experiences from other people, I couldn’t help myself. Absolutely recommended – this is by far the best gaming table I’ve seen in the market. Some companies prefer to go crazy with the features, others skimp on quality. These guys just have the best balanced, all-around table, without sacrificing quality. (Ok, the LEDs look a bit useless, but they certainly do look cool!).

I’ve been enjoying my table for quite some time, however, with some of the games I play that require character sheets as well as miniatures, I thought it would be great to have side railing inserts so players had an area for their sheets, while still having the area for minis and maps. I reached out to Theo and asked if they’d be willing and able to make me some custom inserts for this. The whole process was great- they were able to get me an exact match for colour (even though my table is years old) and the fit was perfect (less the a mm of play which sits perfectly without and rubbing). The price was also very reasonable as I’d been concerned about the cost for shipping (I’m in Canada), but when I looked locally for people that could do a similar job, the cost would have been more expensive than Rathskellers including the shipping and with Rathskellers I wasn’t concerned about matching the stain or the wood (would have had to have it imported specifically for the job). This set up works great for games like Pathfinder, D & D, Descent, Gloomhaven, BattleTech / MechWarrior and any similar games.

Love, love, LOOOVE my table!.

Really, couldn’t be happier with my choice – most of the gaming happens at my place now because it’s just so awesome to play. I did spend quite a lot of thought when selecting specifications and the widest table works very well for my favorite games – dungeon crawls like Imperial Assault or Descent (the new App is great – check it out!). Even the new (huge!) Star Wars Rebellion Board fits like a charm. The dark blue inlay is also very stylish – total recommendation. You only have to be prepared that new games will definitely shed paper motes that diminish the pristine look – I must admit that I have bought a tiny table size vacuum cleaner since I have this table.

One thing to keep in mind is definitely height – the vault space will make this a fairly high table so consider well when making your choice. Also recommend the width-wise cover leaves as I find I leave the table partly open most of the time (it just looks awesome!) and it’s much easier to store the shorter boards.

Craftsmanship is great and I can’t imagine ever getting rid of the table.

I preordered my Councilor table at the Essen fair in October 2015. After about 2 months of impatiently waiting it arrived home 2 days before Christmas like Santa had promised!

The table is stunningly beautiful, everybody who has come home and seen it is impressed. When I remove the leaves and reveal the gaming cellar their mind is blown! For most people it’s a gorgeous dinner table, nobody realises the secret that’s hidden inside. It’s a very solid and heavy table, really, really nice. The table is perfect for gaming, very comfortable. Your arms rest on the wide ledge and you move your pieces or roll your dice a few centimetres below which is very natural and comfy.

Rolling dice against the trench patrol has a casino feel about it. Being able to cover the table and leave the game set up in mid campaign is extremely practical.I have a couple of felt insets of different colours that make picking up cards and rolling dice real easy.

The guys made the ordering and customisation super easy and I was involved the whole time while the table was being made. I even got photos in mid process…I would strongly recommend to anybody on the fence to go for one of these. It’s the best purchase I’ve done in years and I can see that it will last a lifetime!

We just love our table. It is a very, very well built piece of hardwood furniture.

We have been using the Demo Black table we bought during the festival de Cannes in February 2016 and we are very pleased by it’s amazing quality. We play nearly every week and since we don’t have much space in our flat we use it as our dining table as well. When eating we protect it with a soft tablecloth.

Sometimes we leave a game inside the table because we don’t want to put it back in its box (like pandemic legacy which we left it for a few months inside the table as it was easier to resume the campaign)

We use the drawers to store a variety of stuff like napkins for dining, pens & papers for games and lots of small everyday items.

We have recommended the table to our friends who play with us every few weeks. They may even buy a table in the upcoming months because all of them out of sudden are buying bigger flats ?

We really like all of your table models, the designs are really nice and well thought.

It’s been about half a year since receiving my table, a Garrison, from Rathskellers. Although the overall cost was not low, I am extremely happy with the outcome. First of all, during the design and customization process, I had frequent contact with Theo and other members of the company, discussing different options and choices. I never once felt like anything was too much bother, and everyone was always highly pleasant and polite, as well as totally honest in their feedback and advice. The table arrived in January, and I am bowled over by the quality. It is beautifully made with superb attention to detail, and the rail attachments come in very handy when playing certain table hogging games. Although the dice tower was missing from the shipment, Rathskellers swiftly rectified this. There was a problem with this dice tower when it arrived, in that the material did not match the cloth of the table, due to changes in supply. Without blinking, Rathskellers offered to make a new one and went to great lengths to try and match the cloth; I have just received this new one. Again, communication was always helpful and pleasant.

Overall, it has been a fantastic experience dealing with this company and its employees. The product and customer service are both of the highest calibre, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for your gaming table needs.
